As I have posted before, I attended a fabulous food photography workshop recently in Charleston, SC. It was such an amazing weekend to focus on learning and practicing food styling and photography. But it was also wonderful to have a much needed break from daily life to just relax, enjoy great company, and explore the beauty that Charleston beaches have to offer. One afternoon, we went exploring around the area close to our beach house. What a sight of cool plants, colorful houses, and fun people. We also found a local place to listen to some music and enjoy a nice cold “beverage” on the deck.
The beach was just a street away from our house. I went exploring early one morning and enjoyed the sand and cool water. What a beautiful morning! We were also treated to a fabulous dinner one night at the award winning Lana Restaurant. If you are ever in Charleston I highly recommend you check it out!

Last weekend I met up with Miss {E} for senior portraits! I was so honored that she and mom traveled up from NC for the weekend for our session (and to catch up with some friends.)
We did some exploring and found some great spots in downtown Fredericksburg. That’s one reason why I {heart} downtown. Each time I go, I find different little areas that I love! Thanks {E} and mom for a fun afternoon! Here’s a little peek…

A favorite part of the Food Photography workshop I attended last week was a “field trip” to the Charleston Farmer’s Market! Oh. my. gosh. I think I could have spent all day there! It was just booth after booth filled with seasonal produce, beautiful flowers, local meats, homemade soaps and lotions, handmade art and craft items, and so much more! Here’s just a little peek of the hour we spent there…

I was so lucky to attend a food photography workshop last weekend in Charleston, SC with the amazingly talented Helene Dujardin and Clare Barboza. Not only did I get to spend 4 days at a gorgeous beach house, but I learned so much about food styling and photography and made some great new friends! I don’t have much time to write this morning (back to the daily grind of getting kids up and ready for school
) but I wanted to share a few of my favorites from day one. The theme was dessert. Yum!
